At the start of every episode of care we will conduct an initial evaluation. This 50-60 min session allows us to dive into your specific concerns that brought you to seek PT services. We will review your previous medical history, the onset and mechanism of the current injury/complaint, and dig deep into your goals/motivation for solving this problem.

The physical examination will include movement assessment, range of motion, strength, and motor control so please *dress appropriately*. Please note, some of the special tests and assessments can provoke pain/discomfort as we seek to reproduce your primary complaint and identify the exact tissues that are at the root of the problem.

From these findings we will put together a list of impairments, a PT diagnosis, prognosis, and patient education around your condition. An initial home exercise program will be prescribed. Please note, this is only the first step on your road to recovery. These exercises will be progressed over the course of treatment.

We will recommend a plan of care consisting of 6 or 10 sessions, all one-on-one care for 50-60 minutes. The first package offering for 6 sessions is typically recommended for individuals with a single joint and/or tissue that is the primary driver of the condition. As a manual therapist, I will be focusing on hands on work up front and we expect your pain to decrease in the first 2-3 sessions. But, that does not mean that your condition is fully resolved. We need the back end of these sessions to focus on re-loading the tissues and building resilience in your system as a whole in order to fully recover and prevent re-injury. The second package offering with 10 sessions is the most commonly recommended plan and is designed for individuals with multiple joints and multiple tissue concerns. Often times we will front load these sessions 1-2x per week, depending on severity of the case, and then space the sessions out to every other week and then once per month as normal activity is being tolerated.

**** There is data showing that if an individual self selects the number of PT sessions by purchasing one session at a time (not committing to a complete plan of care) this patient will attend exactly 2.4 sessions, will feel better, and will go on with their life with the risk of re-injuring these joints/tissues and having an overall negative outcome. To achieve true healing you can expect 3-6 months worth of dedicated training to experience an overall positive outcome, depending on the case.

PT treatment sessions are 50-60mins long and we are always assessing and re-assessing your condition. Towards the start of the plan of care the emphasis is typically on manual therapy to restore mobility, tissue length, and normalize muscle tone. Depending on your scenario we will progress to working on neuromuscular re-education and therapeutic exercises in our studio to improve your coordination and recruitment patterns and from there progress to building up your tissues ability to tolerate load with exercises on the Isophit. The emphasis is always on getting you back to the activities that bring you joy!

Telehealth

We are available for consultation over video chat to provide you with quick, efficient, and convenient input. Whether you are a current patient and can't get into the clinic but need to check in about your home exercise program, or you are a new patient to us and live outside of the Treasure Valley, we are here for you. There is a lot that we can do virtually to support you on your journey.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an evidence-supported therapy that uses fine, sterile needles to stimulate specific points in the body. This activates the nervous system, enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, and supports the body’s natural healing processes. For many women, acupuncture offers a deeply calming, restorative experience that pairs beautifully with physical therapy and functional rehabilitation.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a therapeutic form of body work that uses skilled, hands-on techniques to release tension, improve circulation, calm the nervous system, and restore balanced movement. In our clinic, massage therapy is designed to complement your physical therapy and movement training- helping you feel better, move better, and recover more effectively.
